Hitachi Rail is working with Innovate UK, University of Birmingham and DB ESG to reduce emissions and cost in the railways, while delivering more inclusive trains and supporting British innovation and skills.

(Derby, 24th of May 2023) Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has appointed leading rolling stock engineering consultancy DB ESG to deliver its tram safety improvement programme.

(Derby, 22nd of March 2023) Safety system on London Trams network to prevent the overspeeding of trams receives Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL2) certification. This SIL2 accreditation is a UK first for a light rail overspeed protection system and provides independent safety assurance.

A few weeks ago, DB ESG emailed all of the organisations that DB ESG has worked for over the previous three years, inviting them to complete a survey to evaluate the service provision. The results are very positive!

(Derby, 9. December 2021) DB ESG is pleased to be able to confirm that it has received a new order from Transport for Wales (TfW) to design and install a manual selective door operation (SDO) system for TfW’s fleet of seven train rakes consisting of Mark 4’s (Mk 4), driving van trailers (DVT) and Class 67 locomotives.

(Derby, 13. October 2021) This is the first time that DB Systemtechnik’s (DB ST) track monitoring system (CTM2.0) will be used, to continuously monitor railway infrastructure, on a passenger service train in the UK.

DB ESG wins project to undertake the modifications necessary to enable interoperability between different rolling stock fleets to be operated by Transport for Wales.

(Derby, 15. July 2020) DB ESG is pleased to be able to announce that it has signed a contract with South Western Railways for the turnkey design, approvals, supply, installation and testing of 36 new desk panels for the 18 Class 442 units operating on the London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour route.

Cleartrak, a novel, environmentally safe train toilet system is to be tested in passenger service by Chiltern Railways as part of Innovate UK’s First of a Kind (FOAK) Funding Programme.
